HLI Events

Historic Littleton, Inc. provides many activities throughout the year for members and non-members alike, as well as notices of important historic preservation, and history events occurring in the Littleton area. Historic Littleton, Inc. will also note regional history and preservation events that would be of interest to members and citizens offered by other Historical Societies. All event, activities, and meetings will be posted on the Events Calendar below.

Speakers/Programs

Historic Littleton, Inc. will occasionally sponsor speakers and lectures by local and regional experts on history and preservation topics. We also coordinate lectures with the Littleton History Museum.

Historic Happy Hour

Historic Littleton, Inc. will hold informal happy hour events where preservationist and history buffs can meet and have casual discussion about a variety of topics. The location could be in an interesting family-oriented venue.

Tours and Special Events

Our special events include history and architectural walking tours,
and modernism tours of historic sites in Littleton and through out the Denver area.

Member Only Events

Member-only events consist of the annual Christmas Party, special member only
activities and the annual board meeting.

Honorary Dog Mayor

Attention all dog owners:

Historic Littleton, Inc. elected its first Honorary Dog Mayor in November 2021! Meet Honorary Dog Mayor, Murdock, a five-year-old Basset Hound. Netty, Dog Mayor Pro Tem, is a six-year-old French Bulldog.

4:00 pm: CITY DITCH WATER LINE IMPROVEMENTS

The City of Englewood will be having a Littleton open house to discuss the alternatives for piping the historic 1862 City Ditch as it runs through Littleton.  Attend the meeting to learn about the 67 alternatives and provide input into the mitigation process.

The meeting will be held in the Littleton City Council Chambers.

Travel back in time with a tour of buildings, lives, and events on a historic walking tour of the newly established Littleton Downtown Historic District. During the tour you will learn about the history of the building, including the architecture, and the people who owned them.

Meet in front of the Littleton Courthouse at 2069 West Littleton Boulevard. This tour is free, but donations are appreciated. You do not need reservations to attend.

The historic tours are guided by Historic Littleton, Inc.

The tours last about 1.5 hours.

2:00 pm: DOG WALK along the City Ditch

Join Dog Mayor Murdoch and Dog Pro-tem Mayor Netty for a dog walk along the City Ditch constructed by Richard Little in 1862. This is a good way to get your canine out for a social walk and learn about Littleton's Oldest historic structure. The Tour will begin at Ridgeway Park near Lee Gulch and will be given by Rebecca Kast.

6:00 pm: "PRESERVATION CELEBRATION"

Historic Littleton, Inc. invites you to toast 33 years of preservation successes on Main Street and throughout Littleton at the Preservation Celebration on Thursday, May 18 from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. at Shift Workspaces, 2679 W. Main Street.

Barbara Pahl, retired Vice President of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, will speak on “Why Don’t We Call It Change?” Birds-eye tours of Main Street will be given and prizes awarded for trivia questions about preservation.

The late Mike Massey will be honored for his visionary efforts to preserve Main Street’s buildings by establishing the Second Century Fund, which became Historic Littleton, Inc.

Appetizers and drinks will be served. The cost is $45/person.
